Warriors!

Today's first profession is the Warrior! A little background information about me with using the warrior. My 2nd "real" character after I started Guild Wars way back in the day was a warrior named, "The Brave Lil Tostr". I did many-a-things with him. Including starting Factions when I got it.

Now the warrior is the master of melee, the original tanking class in Guild Wars, first made known when the land of Tyria was in trouble! They have great DPS*1 and a high AL*2. They are capable of taking mass amounts of damage and dealing out a good amount. With certain skills, these tanking warriors can reduce damage down to a minimum and make your party succeed to a maximum!

Mmm, okay, did you like my little fun with the warriors? I really loved mine. Now Warriors use three different weapons: Sword (1.33 seconds); axe(1.33seconds) and Hammer(1.75seconds). Swords and axes are most common for PvE*3 due to the ability to have a shield and the massive DPS*1 they put out. Swords do 15-22 Damage giving a great constant lower damage, as well as sword skills provide many-a-conditions they can give such as: Bleeding and deep-wound(combine that with some other stuff XD). Axes give a 6-28 Damage range, which, yes, gives them more damage capability but there is a chance that they will do lesser damage resulting in less DPS*1. Hammers are most used in PvP*4. They have a slower attack rate and gives you lesser armor(such as no shield being equipped). Hammers provide: Knock downs as well as weakness. The Warriors have five attribute selections: Strength, Swordsmanship, Axe Master, Hammer Master, and Tatics. Strength gives armor penetration 1% for each rank in Strength you have. Swordsmanship makes your sword and sword attacks do more damage. Axe master does the same for swords just for axes, as well as hammer does the same as well, just for hammers. Tatics increases your defensive skills, and blocking.

Now, I think warriors are a great part of PvE*3 as well as PvP*4. Due to the different roles they can play they can be very useful in elite missions as well as PvP*4 maps such as Fort Aspenwood or Random Arenas. For certain cases, you don't want a warrior, such as: You can't use melee due to the AI's*5 skills, or in Jade Quarry, or Alliance Battles, Warriors aren't really good in those areas!

As for if Warriors suck, or not. I'd say they don't but in recent cases where warriors are being replaced by Shadow Form Assassins, or Obsidian Flesh Elementalists, they aren't needed as much anymore. Which is the sad part of the Guild Wars world. After the upcoming nerf*6 to Shadow form and 600/smite*7 warriors will be popular again!

*1 - DPS = Damage per second
*2 - AL = Armor Level
*3 - PvE = Player verses Environment.
*4 - PvP = Player Verses Player
*5 - AI = Artificial Intelligence
*6 - Nerf = changing a skill to a less powered state
*7 - 600/smite = A type of dual monk farming that is overpowered(in my opinion)
